Second-half goals from Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus secured the Hammers the three points at London Stadium on Saturday. After the match, defender Shaw criticised his team's performance in east London.

He told : "[It was] just not good enough really. We have to win games. We keep losing games, losing points and we're making it very hard for ourselves. Especially that second half, not good enough. First half I think we controlled the game. If we score the first goal then maybe the result's different but we don't so we suffered in the second half and it's not good enough.

"The pass was an unbelievable pass. It got a bit of luck with the rebound and that's that. The second goal is a mistake but that doesn't matter. From the start of the second half, we were not the same as the first half and it showed. That's why I'm here now and we've lost three points again."

THE BIGGER PICTURE

United's season continues to get worse after this defeat. They are eighth in the league, are out of Europe, manager Erik ten Hag is fighting for his job, and there is still uncertainty about the ownership. None of this is a recipe for success.
