In a press conference ahead of Atletico Madrid's clash with Barcelona, Oblak suggested that American soccer has a bright future: "I think that it’s just been a matter of time in the United States. Football is going to evolve and I think it’s on the right path, and it’s evolving all the time.
"I’m sure it’s not going to stop here, and I’m sure football in the US has a very positive future. And I know that the football league is going to improve a lot, and it’s going to become more and more competitive, year on year… It’s going to be very interesting or the people in the US. I think that in a very short period of time, I think that football is going to be one of the sports that people go to, and are going to enjoy a lot, too.”

Messi isn't the only La Liga player to show interest in MLS. Oblak's teammate Antoine Griezmann has long been vocal about his intention to play in the league, while former Barca striker Luis Suarez has been linked with an Inter Miami move.
